Guitar through a Orange terror bass?

Hi!

Dont know if this is a illegal question here haha but does anyone know if the Orange terror bass 500w head works just as good for guitar as for bass? I thought it has tubes and good power but is it risk for damage it by playing guitar through it? 🤔

good is subjective, so give it a try

also cabs matter, you need speakers for the head to make sounds (well, unless you're speaking about the DI out) and different speakers will sound differently, thus more good or bad depending on what you want.

The other way around can be problematic in terms of blown speakers and tone/EQ parameters that just don't serve the range for bass very well, but the Fender Bassman, either head/cab or the original tweed combo(although they are two different animals)have been favorites of guitarists for years. This rig? It just depends on if the tone stack is to your liking. Would you be gigging with it, or just practicing/jamming?

Just gonna try in the rehersalplace how it sound I think 😊 I think it might sound pretty raw if turning down the bass and putting up the distortion a bit!

This is the most pertinent question. What it sounds like is going to be dependent on what speakers you're playing through. It's also a pretty significant amount of power for a guitar amp, so the speakers will need to be rated to dissipate that much power -- 250 watts for an 8Ω cab.

I tried this just last week with my new TB 500 Mk2.
I usually play my guitar (and a ton of pedals) through a Katana 100, and I was curious what it would sound like though the TB.
In a word - terrible! It was horribly dry, and the tube breakup was nothing like the nice gentle edge that I have dialled in nicely on the Katana.
To be fair, I was running the TB through a 1x15 500W Eminence in a big cab, however I used to run my guitar through my Hi-Watt Custom 100 DR103 with similar settings with the same cab and it sounded superb, but that combo was ridiculously loud and not practical for rehearsal or recording in a smaller studio, hence downsizing to the Katana.

I'm sure if I were to have spent a lot of time re-dialling in all my pedals, and adding in some reverb, and put it through a proper guitar cab, then I'm sure it could be made to sound ok, but my first simple test was a bit underwhelming and I won't won't bother trying it further.
