I think Tom Petty played bass a lot with Traveling Wilburys to

I love the Hofner Club bass, it is my favorite, even more so than the violin bass, which I love too.

I have a standard German made Hofner 500/2 Club bass, a gold top Club bass with three pick ups, and a CV LTD Club bass with the shellac antique violin finish.

Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick sometimes plays a Hofner Club bass, most recently he played one at a Cheap Trick show doing the complete Sgt. Pepper's album live.

Just saw a killer Hofner Club bass from the USA Custom Shop in Candy Apple Red. It's a one off on Ebay now. I would have bought it but I purchased the Candy Apple Red V64.

I just joined, I'm a longtime drummer and bass player. My son has taken to bass and has a short stock and wants a full size -- he's a Beatles fan and I got him a loaner Hofner ignition (450$) and he fell in love. I checked out the similar Epiphone ($249) and while much heavier I liked the solidity of the feel and tone more. But I don't think I will change his tune, he wants a Hofner -- but maybe someone here can address pros and cons for a 1.5 year player -- and he's darn good! Thanks, steve

Doing back to back 5 hour gigs last Oct, I found the hofner club to be critical in making it through the gigs. At 5 lbs, it is a back saver.
