Double Bass H Clamp w/ Beta 57 placement?

Bass friends -

I've been using Sam's poor man rubber band microphone set-up with an SM-57. I just got my own Beta 57a with an H-clamp. I've been fooling around with placement, but wondering - where's the best place to mic a bass? I'm assuming that every bass has a different sweet spot, but are there some general areas I should try out first? Thanks!

Here are pics of how I use the H and a Beyer M-88 TG. It is more or less pointed at the mid-point between the bridge and the end of the FB, or said another way between the top of the f-holes.

Cool, that looks like how I've been mounting and positioning it. Seems to work fine in my basement. We'll try it on a gig tonight.
