First of all, hello – I’m fairly new here as a user.
A few years ago, I bought a wonderful H. R. Pfretzschner bow from my trusted double bass luthier. At the time, the purchase price was around €2200.
Now I’m considering switching bows, as I’ve recently been offered a very fine one by a colleague that feels like an even better fit for me.
I wanted to ask if any of you have experience with reselling bows.
How does their value typically develop over time? Does it go up, or does it drop due to regular use?
The bow has, of course, always been well cared for and maintained by a professional bow maker – including regular rehairs, etc.
I’ve attached a few photos of the bow to help with evaluation.
I’d really appreciate any insights you can share.
Thanks in advance and best regards!
