H9 Question: Does 'Global Tempo' actually work?

Well this is irritating...

I've got a couple of delay presets with tempos set (one at 160bpm, one at 130bpm), but I've got Global Tempo switched on in the pedal settings. According to the documentation, this should override the tempo associated with the preset and allow me to tap a new one.

Sometimes this works - when I hit the tap button it shows me a speed in milliseconds and the tempo does indeed change. Sometimes it doesn't, and hitting the tap button just shows me the tempo in bpm that is stored with the preset.

Am I missing something or is this broken? I'm on the latest firmware.

Probably not helpful, but are you sure you're in tap tempo mode when it just shows bpm, as opposed to cycle-through-presets mode? Holding it down would switch back to tap tempo mode.

Probably not helpful, but since no one more knowledgeable has answered, I thought I'd give it a shot.
