Hagstrom Super Swede - pick playing

Being a huge fan of the genius Rutger Gunnarsson (most famously one of ABBA's bass mainstays), I've always had a hankering to get a Hagstrom Super Swede bass. The original was designed with input from Gunnarsson, to the point it may as well have been a signature bass. He played it on their final tours of the US, Europe and Japan, and their final two albums and run of singles before the breakup.

The trouble is, I'm a pick player, while he played finger style, and the bass has the "Resinator" fretboard that extends the full length of the bass, including between the pickups and right up to the bridge.

Would that make this bass really impractical for pick playing? Obviously playing with a pick you have to try and avoid the pickups on any bass, so having the raised fretboard in that area seems like it might make it a nightmare. If anyone has any experience with this bass, I'd love to know what you think.

Just bumping this up to see if anyone has an answer, plus an image of the bass so you can see what I mean about the extended fingerboard.

As for the question: on a bass you already own, are you not able to avoid a pickup (set at a tone/level-appropriate height) if you pick directly over it?
That would be proof enough whether the extended board of the Super Swede would or wouldn't be a nuisance to you.
