Unusual design, pretty timeless and very much a love or hate thing IMO.

I'd love to put my paws on "Northern Super Swede" but these were discontinued AFAIK and only a small number made it in into the U.S.

Just messing with you. It's beautiful. I've always had a soft spot for Hagstrøms, and scandihoovian basses in general.

I generally love Hagstroms, and I appreciate the vox-like knobs too (have a set of those on my Duke now).
But something about the body shape there seems clunky to me - lower horn a tad too fat? I dunno...

Hagstrom has been around a long time. I am sure they make fine instruments. This bass looks Jazz Bass influenced, and that surely is a good thing.

Owned one and sold it. Action was high and no way to lower it based on bridge position. Neck was straight and saddles as low as they would go. Might have been just mine, though. Sounded fantastic.

I've been intrigued by this bass and just thought about it the other day. I will never buy another Hagstrom instrument, though. I bought a "new" Hagstrom H8 Retroscape and the thing, although sounding tremendous, had horrible build quality. The truss rod was broken inside the neck (you could hear it rattling around), fret sprout and fret work were atrocious and overall it felt very cheap and plasticy. even with almost half off I still didn't keep it.
