Is that the fingerboard that extends all the way down to the bridge?
Yes it appears to be a carved extension of the fingerboard.

Is that the fingerboard that extends all the way down to the bridge?
I am all set for basses (for the moment, anyway), but I have always been intrigued by the Super Swede). Never had the opportunity to play one, though.I have had several Hagstrom basses over the years. The last Super Swede in my stable was built between original and the Asian models. It was purchased before the Asian models hit the market. If memory serves, all the parts come from Sweden and it was assembled in Czechoslovakia, making it a European model. It is a very beautiful instrument, and thoughtfully crafted. I rarely play it anymore, but it is fun to pull out at times. Rutger was able to do some amazing work with this design. I will probably sell it at some point, but have been putting it off.
