Took the plunge and went for the Tascam DR-100 Mk3.
It's definitely a bigger than the DR-05 I previously had but I'm sure I'll get used to that in exactly the same way as when my Sony Xperia XZ phone first arrived and I thought "wow that's big!". Now I just think "wow, I love that big 4k screen!"
Doesn't seem to be much that's been specifically tailored for casing for this that is not an outrageous price, but I managed to find something suitable on Amazon for under $10.
