The eternal bane of men, right there. We are born with the natural inclination toward conquest & conquering things, be it a task or an adventure of some sort. Once we have accoplished whatever it is, we need/want more/different/better.All this got me to thinking about other things I thought might make my life complete.
I'll be completely open here...I had to learn the hard way with my ex-wife that she didn't want to be a conquest. She wanted me to go on a quest for her/conquer her/win her over/chase after her, etc...every day. I did to a certain degree, & that wasn't the cause of our divorce (long, painful story), but it was something I learned in hindsight. I wish I would have learned it earlier; it might have saved our marriage (she ended up liking meth more than family, so then again...). If I get married again, my bride may have other issues with me,
I have found my source of peace with pretty much everything about life, & am quite happy. I'm glad you & Mrs. slo are happy!
