When Bass Magazine had a memorial after his death, Marcus Miller told about seeing the Brothers Johnson live in Los Angeles. MM was so blown away, he decided to never listen to him him again out of fear LJ would influence him! That is some respect.

This one is mostly keyboard bass in the spirit of PYT, but around the 3pm it’s mark or shortly there after , is a great slap solo by Louis that just gets more funky by the note.

I saw that video. It doesn’t list Greg or Louis at all. Only Abraham on bass and Richard Tee on bass synth .

It sounds like Abraham to me. Louis had more punch and force to his notes. I don’t hear that StingRay ping or that Yamaha BB sizzle. I know Louis was known to use both of those basses during sessions for Q. W was a big fan of the Yamaha BB . I know Abe played Yamaha too. But he sounds different from Louis. Abe’s playing dances and is very bouncy . Louis is is more in your face power and speed with force and funk.

Space Scraper off Toshiki Kadomatsu's Weekend Fly To The Sun is a great Louis Johnson Track. Whats Interesting about that album, is Louis Johnson, Nathan East and Abraham Laboriel played on it. Toshiki got some heavy hitters to play on that album.
