Double Bass Happy New Year

Just wanted to thank this community for being so helpful and a great resource for me these last nine months as I've dedicated myself to DB. Looking back on TB, I was a pretty frequent poster in the electric side of the house under a different handle about 10-15 years ago! So time has flown. You all have given great advice, and there have been some excellent discussions. Thanks for your time and willingness to provide help and input. Special shout-out to Chris and his masterful Jazz videos that were huge resources for me on this journey.

Wishing you a fantastic New Year, and looking forward to a better 2021.

PS I just saw on the sticky I perhaps shouldn't post this here, so mods, please remove/move. I think my last hurrah of 2020 was violating the rules!

Glad to hear it, Len. TB has been a daily thing for me since 2000, when I was just starting out on the big bass. My videos were inspired by a desire to pay forward the sort of help, encouragement, and mentorship I found here (often through snail mail correspondence back in those days) from folks like Ed Fuqua, Paul Warburton, Sam Sherry, and a host of others. One person who I haven't seen here for years even sent me my first Dominant string for reasons I still don't understand - he just said "I think you might like these, so I'm sending you this G string". I know I'm happy to still be checking in every day and glad our little corner of the web is still going.

Happy new year! And as far as the year that just was: the year of filth, the year of putrescence, that miserable, vomitous mass of a year...
