HAPPY TO FINALLY BE HERE !!!!

Hi I'm Joe.

Many of the posts I've been reading have linked me back here. great community I've already gained a ton of good helpful info so Thanks. Something about the bass subs and forums always very helpful and cool.

I still don't know my log in or password but was thrilled I could finally log in using my google account this morning at work. I'll get the rest taken care of later.

I've been playing for 10 years or more. Recently with bands that's where the real fun (and aggravation) started for me haha.

I do have some pressing issues, one I need a bigger amp since my band is drowning me out. Two I'm working on a leather pick. But I'll post in other forums for both of those issues.

Very Happy to be a part of this community !!!!!!!!

Thanks you for the replies and welcomes everyone !!!

Two weekends ago I picked up a used Fender Rumble 100 for $150 bucks. I LOVE IT.

My son's buddy keeps his Rumble 40 at the house and I was always very impressed.

This Weekend I bought a new Rumble 500. I got about 72 bucks off list price just because it was a floor model.

I LOVE IT !!!! Deff shopping for a Cab, IDK what kind but I need 8ohm 250 Watt minimum which shouldn't be tough to find. I can use it the same as my GK MB115 as it's very close to same weight and physical size. The Combo that is)

I have the GK MB115 listed for sale but not in a big hurry might come in handy if I need/want to leave an amp at a practice spot. It's listed at 325 but I'd take less.

The cab will no doubt be a used one. There's quite a few out there and it looks like I went a bit crazy with the purchases lately. I know I probably don't need a cab but I'll admit I certainly want one and that's always been good enough for me.

Also asked my buddy to babysit while I adjusted and set up my Bass, (Ibanez SR 300). The action had gotten high. 1/4 turn the truss straightened it out. Then did the intonation and lowered the action as far as posssible. He was laughing when I went so low but I said Bob, now that you showed me how to do this I can adjust anywhere anytime.

It really is a great feeling to know I can set up my gear anytime anyway I see fit without having to take it to someone and rely on what they think it best. It was on my bucket list and I can't tell you how much better it feels knowing I can do it. It IS very simple and quick, I just wanted him there to make sure I didn't do any permanent damage. I love my SR Bass. I get a lot of comliments on it. Flat Black with 2 Humbuckers. It does look pretty BadAss.

As far as the pick I just ordered a few different kinds but it seems a standard shape super heavy one works fine. Playing Rebel yell 168 BPM and I have to hit almost everyone of them. I started playing first with my thumb and first finger. I work on the 2 finger method as much as I can, getting better but still not that quick. And I'l pick when I have to.

Soo many great things about being a Bassist, it was on a whim but I never dreamt 10 years ago when I bought one it would take me to the place I'm at today. i still like playing guitar but usually too busy with the band to play much.
