Hard panning on windows. Is it possible?

Hello people!

I notice a huge difference when listening to music on my mp3 player as opposed to listening to it on my pc.

Basically the mp3 player "hard pans" the audio, thus putting the right channel from the audio file 100% on the right channel and 0% on the left. Same goes for the left channel, of course.

My pc does not. The right channel from the source file ends on the left output channel as well, and I totally don't like this. Do you guys know a way to fix this? It totally spoils the "coolness" of hard panned songs!

Check the sound audio and audio settings in the control panel. There may be a setting
for stereo and monophonic speakers setup.
On mine there is a section for "speakers".

It sound like you are describing a signal playing in mono.
