Hardware advice on Fender MB-5, please?

I've got a couple of the Made In Japan Fender models, the MB-4 and MB-5 (the four string and five string models respectively) and I want to put one of the chrome Fender bridge and pickup covers on them. They're a bit smaller than the P and J basses so I'm worried that the chrome hardware won't fit on them properly and I'll just waste money and possibly damage my equipment. Any thoughts or advice?
