Double Bass Harley benton solidbass 600H

I thought i would take a shot on this 600 watt head.I missed the sound missing from class D markbass head, thump and trouser flapping i think is the word best to describe what i mean. This amp is a solid state A/B 600 watts at 4 ohms, which i use a Markbass 800 watt 4 ohm cab.Weighs about 11 kilos the head. The sound is great like the amps from yester year.I was looking for the old style bass head of the 80's/90's with out buying second hand or paying a fortune for one. Got this from Thomann in Germany on line for £249.Could not be more pleased with it.

Sounds great with a slab,to be onest there is nothing not to like. The only thing is the tuner is a bit slow on the the up take, but you do get there.I will never go back to class D,I’m not slagging class D,but for me this is the sound I grew up with.It moves a lot of air with a nice thump behind the note old school style. For upright bass rockabilly slap style I couldn’t be more happy. It’s the price I think that put’s people off ,must be crap.Far from it,great little amp.600 watt class a\b for £249,it’s a bargain and well worth the money.

Hi there.

I've been considering getting of these heads as a backup for my Orange OB1-500. I'm just wondering if yours is still performing okay/developed any faults? The price makes it appear too good to be true and I'm concerned about longevity given the inevitable cheap labour involved in its manufacture. Having said that, I know Thomann offer 3 year warranty which I suppose negates my reservations. Regardless, any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers!

Also, I noticed a fair amount of background noise in Harley Benton's own promotional video (heard between 2.37 and 3.57), although I don't know if that's maybe down to the level of the compressor and/or interference from the lights in the studio? Again, any insight from your own experience would be ace :)
