Hartke 410xl & markbass sd800 problem

I have troubleshot everything I can think of. The right 10's dont like to do anything with the markbass sd800. Here are the specs,

Power

That's right. And overall tge sound is great. It's like a very heavy 210 with a very light amp. Guitar center doesn't know anything. I've emailed markbass but I've heard they try to help but there is a languGe barrier (Italian)

Let me make sure I understand. You have plugged a totally different amp head into your cab, with the same bass and cables, and the other two speakers magically start working, but when you plug the SD800 in, the right two speakers stop working, all other thing being the same?

I believe this is impossible, so I must not be understanding something.

Could you clarify that you have isolated the issue by trying a different head with the cab, and also trying the MB head with a different cab. I don't believe there is any way the MB head could be the cause of this. There is no way 'some speakers' would work and others wouldn't with a monoblock head and a single cable into the cab unless it was a wiring issue within the cab.

I don't see that he's tried it with a different head. Doesn't matter anyway, as Ken said the amp can't do this. So one of the 10's is blown, or disconnected. If the cab is wired series/parallel, which it almost certainly is, this is the only explanation.

My Sd800 works awesome with just about any cap i put it with. I would take the head to guitar center and try it with a bunch of other cabs. If it is the problem, they should be able to take care of it there if it's not. . .at least you will have tried some descent cabs to pair up with it!! good luck man!

I've received the wiring diagram from samsomtech. I cracking that thing back open. Your implications that I am lying are making learning Bass guitar an unpleasant experience. The amp that fired up all four speakers was a 350 watt amp owned by the person I bought the cab from. Cabinet was then transported to my house to a sd800, new that worked with a 410 at guitar center, speakon SPEAKER cable to 1/4 inch

So yes, there are circumstances that may be hard for you to understand. As I progress, I plan on offering any help to starting bassists. But thats just me

Actually, we are trying to help you, since you are obviously new to this. The information above explains everything. It worked with one head... you transported it, and now it doesn't work with another. You just have some loose wires in the cab. Again, it literally can't have anything to do with the head. I'm not sure if a speaker cable problem could cause this... doesn't seem so, that too would seem to be an 'all or nothing' problem with the output.

All the specs you posted about wattage, frequency, etc., has literally NOTHING to do with if a cab will work or not with a head, much less if 'half the cab' will work:)

The good news is, from your description above, it seems like probably one wire came loose from one speaker (which can cause two of the four speakers to stop working it your cab is wired '2 x series' and then the pairs paralled together.

That should be a simple fix, and that rig should sound darn nice. Again, wattage, type of head, etc., etc. would have nothing to do with this issue.

Good luck... it should again be an easy and hopeful cost free fix for you.

Thanks. The wiring is what I figured. My fiancé had mice in her car so I've been busy. I live in a rural 963 acre country estate and I only get dial up. I work 6:00Am to 7:30pm if I'm lucky so I don't have alot of time to spend on forums.

Thank you to everyone that put up with my rants. Another year has passed, and I have long since figured out how to solve alot of problems, with the help of the members of talkbass.

After another year I will be further ahead in knowledge, from listening to others, reading and trial & error. I look forward to the day that I can help someone out who is beginning with a simple problem, so they can continue on the path of learning, what is in my opinion, the greatest instrument, the bass. Drums arent bad either...
