Hartke Cab in pristine condition shows up with a gouge.

A bit of a mystery. Bought this cab on ebay, Note the left side off the grill on the tolex edge near the top left speaker. There is no damage mentioned and I had to check the description to make sure nothing was disclosed I missed. I wrote the seller to ask if it was an over sight, or damaged by a third party that packed it.

He said and I quote "When it was packed, there was no damage at all. It was in perfect condition. In fact, that unit never was even transported...it sat in a single room from the time it was purchased until the time it was shipped to you. It would be something that would need to be followed up with through ups if there is damage".

I did not get from him who packed it but I am assuming someone else did. What do you guys think happened? See photos.

I'm going to be up set if UPS did this to an otherwise mint condition used cab. Am I entitled to any compensation?
