Which one for best quality and performance? I am not in any band. This will be used at home and sometimes at church. Do not need to rattle the windows. Just looking for a good clean sound.

Hartke HA2500 or Ampeg BR2

i always enjoyed the sound of my ampeg b2r at medium volume levels. gave a taste of the ampeg tone without overpowering the sound of your bass. i haven't played through the hartke so i can't compare the 2 for you, but the only reason i sold my ampeg (yesterday, actually) was because i recently got an ampeg v4b tube head and needed the cash to offset the cost.
i've heard of a handful of people having problems with the b2r overheating after a long period of use, but it never happened to me, and if you're using it at home and church i don't think this would be a problem.

I now have a small amp to practice on. A Yorkville BM50(old school) I think my wife is going to start playing. We will learn together. I will pass the yorkie to her and wanted to get a head and cab to start learning on. Yes GAS is attacking
For home / church volumes, I'd take the B2R based purely on tone. I used to have one and quite liked the sound, but I sold it because it ran out of volume a little too early with my louder bands.
