hartke paper cones

looking at getting paper cones for my new amp. don't want to spend a super lot on them. I plan on getting a hartke 4'10 and a hartke 1'15. I played through the 4'10 but not the 15. I hear alot of bad things about Hartke and was just wondering if this is a good idea or not. If not suggestions. I plan on buying the 4'10 first but overall dont want to spend more than 600-700 on the pair.

I've owned a VX410 in the past (currently use Ampeg 410HLF). It was a decent sounding cabinet for the money and I ran 700 watts through it with no problem. Make sure you power it with a decent powered amp and you should be OK. Low power equals distortion - distortion equals heat - heat equals fried voice coils. Check Craigslist, you can almost always find VX series cabs there for a decent price. My biggest complaint on the VX cab is the lack of a level control for the horn. I found the horn to be too harsh for my playing style and disconnected it.

Good luck

vx series are basically budget cabs thats why they're so cheap to get hold of.i've got the 4x10 &1x15 cabs and they're both excellent.i run them through the hartke 500w head,so handling the power isn't a problem.i'd like some ampeg/ashdown/ebs/markbass cabs but i'd have to sell one of me bentleys.i've seen both cabs in the 200quid range,so they're not hard too pick up;and they're light weight as well.:bassist::):bassist:
