If you saw my profile I have had about 75 basses and currently have my first and Mike dirnt thats being parted up so its unplayable.I have played about 7 years and went through alot of gear and now and back with the dean edge its gotta be pre 2003 which was the year I got it at 13.

Lately i fixed up my first a cheapie and been loving it except the super thin neck.Has anyone ever came back to there first ?

Also does anyone know of a nice dual pickup bass with a wide neck? besides a HH ray which I am looking at.

haha nope just went through alot of gear lately, most of that was the last 2 years the first 3 years of playing I only owned 1 bass the whole time.


I think I have just had alot of P basses and in my mind I love there necks , but I perfer dual Pickup basses. I think my next bass maybe a jazz with a P neck , maybe active pickups.

Why does fender not make a jazz with a P neck, like ever? they never have and i think they could sell well.

I still have my first bass that my late father bought me around 1992 it's a Falcon P Bass in sunburst that he paid £100 for. It's in amazing condition for it's age only a couple of dings and things, About 8 years ago I decided to retire her as the band I was in started playing more and more gigs and I needed a bit more umph on stage so I bought an Ibanez SR1500. Anyway getting back to the point, about a year and a half ago I was having a play about on it and decided to bring the old girl back to life I stuck some seymore duncan SPB3 quarter pounder pickups in it changed the white scratchplate to a gold on and stuck a bridge and pickup cover on it. VERY RETRO and she looks and sounds amazing. In fact I'm taking her out tomorrow for the first time with my new band and I can't wait. :bassist:

My 1st bass (back in 1979) was a POS P-bass copy-possibly a Memphis but i cant remember for sure. It wasnt even a true P-bass copy because it had some weird-looking microphonic pickup in it.

I wouldnt mind having one of every OTHER bass I've ever owned, but as far as going back to the beginning-NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scowl::spit:

Never, but I still have that body of my first bass: an Aria Pro II SLB-2. It was a blue Korean made Aria Pro II plywood bass with cheap Mighty Mite styled P/J's in it. It was very student (and about $299 at the time while a Memphis was $199) and had that 80's hair metal headstock (black and hockey stick pointy) and vibe (metallic-ish blue Dinky style). I used to trade it for my sister's '87 MIJ Fender P w/ TBX control every now and then when I was learning and doing gigs. I have since acquired the MIJ P as my own.
