Has anyone came back to there first bass?

Nope, but I still have the neck, since it has a "lawsuit" headstock (Fernandez P-bass copy). To date, my first remains the only bass that I have smashed. The body got destroyed, but the pickup and bridge are still in my parts bin. The neck has been affixed with old cassette labels between every fret, with the note values weitten on them (standard EADG tuning, of course). Oddly enough, my second was a Peavey T-20, just like the one in Monsterbass74's avatar pic.

I have made the journey from P-bass to J-bass to Ray & beyond, only to revert back to the J, in the form of the G&L JB2, which has a P body; perhaps a progressive reversion, if such an oxymoronic term were to be acceptable.

Once I get my MIM P-Bass a new neck, I'll play it a ton. Though I don't know it will get more playing time than my Heir...

I danced all the way home (okay, not really) after ditching my Squier Bronco five years ago. That thing was crap and I would never play it ever again. I once played somebody else's Bronco and had to fight the urge to kill it with fire.

I did revisit my first GOOD bass last year. That was a '64 Precision, so I picked up an Am Vintage '62. It reminded of why I loved my old P, but also reinforced why I got rid of it.

I found that I just can't go home. It did remind me of how much I appreciate a good P pickup though, and now my fiver proudly wears an EMG 40P5 at the neck.

Not knowing anything about bass guitars, i bought an american P when I changed the frontiers after 25 years of drumming.

Never needed to go back...that thing is still # one while other basses come and go.

I wish..... my first bass was a Univox High Flier ...... I see them go for $350 on Ebay all the time,but can't bring myself to pay that for a bass that I paid that $40 for as a teenager.

Still got my first. Converted my second to a fretless, but my third and latest one I bought is my main axe.

Strung my first bass BEAD because I sometimes need that low B, but I'm a P guy... and that leaves me with little to no choice when it comes to 5 string models.

First bass was a mid 60's Fender jazz i bought in Columbus Oh. at Uncle Sam's pawn shop in 1977. I have since returned to playing jazz style 5 strings only. Sure wish i had that first one back though

Technically my first bass was a black CIJ P bass that i was borrowing from my roommate
in the first few months of our band back in college

I still own and play the first bass I bought
