Double Bass Has Anyone Ever Done a Back To Back....

I made a comparisson between an old Coda model and a GK 150.
The Coda is more powerful, but the GK seems easier to carry, but it was not the new Coda witch is smaller than the old one.

The Coda sound more natural, the sound is spread because of the position of the bass speaker, this can be a little surprising in the beginning.
for the GK, at low volume, the sound is good, but that cab don't project the sound and goes quickly to his limit, depending of the drummer you play with.
The problem with those "small" amps is that, depending of the drummer, you have to push them, and in that case, the most powerful one is the best cause he can handle the volume.
If you play low gigs, the GK is a good one, light and you could probably find a second hand one at a good price.
For the Coda, you have to try it, because some don't like the way the bass speaker spread the sound.
You gonna have more head room with the coda.

It seems to me that on alot of gigs with the GK, the sound gets dispersed in weird ways anyway, and that the "focus" of the sound is sometimes lost. I've tried to compensate for this by putting the amp on a chair, etc., which seems to help. Of course it depends on the room.
The problem I see with AI is that I'm sure if you were in a studio and put it back to back with the GK, the AI would sound more natural. But I don't know that in a room that's boomy or fish bowl like that the AI is going to help that problem. So, it seems almost like the AI would be better but only under the right conditions. I could be way off here, as I haven't tried the AI stuff.

When I made my comparison, it was in a jazz club (a basement), with a round roof, not really a good sounding place, a friend plays the bass, so I could hear the difference as a listener (far from the stage), and I prefer the sound of the Coda, more natural, louder, I could really listen to the bass, with the GK, you get more an amplified double bass.
Now, the Coda spread the sound, you cannot really say where the sound is coming out, but this is a good effect and make a good restitution of the bass. It's just a bit surprising.
Now,I know few users that don't like the coda, because the sound is depending of the surface of the floor (wood, carpet, etc) , you 'll have to match with the position of the bass speaker and may be roll of the bass.
