Has anyone had success with Rick Beato's ear training course?

I think everything about that guy is overrated, but that's just my opinion. His ear is alright, but not so great that I'd want his book. Again, just my opinion. I never had a book for ear training. My instructor in college just gave us tips for memorizing the sound of intervals, and rhythms. The rest is just transcribing to develop your skills.
Seems to me the best ear training course is a manuscript book, a pencil, and some songs. Oh and a rewind button.
I enjoy some of his videos but I find I can't listen to him for too long.

I don't have the programme so hopefully someone else can you with that side of things and answer the question a bit more.
WrapRough hit the nail on the head. There are some good books that I'd recommend but singing with drones and then singing along with recordings really gets your ears off the ground. Most people can easily identify things like a major or minor triad when it's played for them, but fewer people can actually produce those sounds themselves without a reference and even fewer can then produce inversions and permutations of those notes. If you can physically produce those sounds you will certainly be able to hear them elsewhere. Ear training is something you have to do daily, and fortunately it's something there is genuinely no excuse for skipping because sounds are everywhere.

The Beato ear training course is not a book, it's online with videos and such. I use it on Windows 10, but I think it works on phones and tablets too.

I've only scratched the surface, but am considering sending it to my nephew for his 11th Bday. His paternal grandfather (my dad) had perfect pitch, taught music.
