Have an 18v positive tip power supply need it to be negative...

Are you handy with a soldering iron? If so, it's a fairly simple process to make a center positive into a center negative. Basically, you cut the wire near the end, and strip the wires from both ends. Then you use a multimeter to determine which wire coming from the adapter is positive and which is negative. Then you use the multimeter's sound mode to tell you which wire on the end is connected to the center. You solder the negative wire to the wire that connects to the center, and then solder the other two wires together. Wrap electrical tape around each connection so the positive and negative wires don't touch, and then wrap electrical tape around the whole connected area to make it look nice and neat.

If you don't have a soldering iron and multimeter already, it would probably be much simpler and much cheaper to just buy a new adapter.

It's even easier than this. If you know you have a center-positive adapter, simply cut the leads making sure you know which wires are which, and then swap them. You could cheat and just strip and twist them together and tape them up but I would recommend soldering and using heatshrink tubing on each and then taping.

That adapter would work.

Also, center positive power supplies are commonly used for regular households items, (phone docks, routers, modems, etc..) so finding one wouldn't be hard. Circuit City probably sell em for 25$ but you can probably find one cheaper at a pawn shop or small electronics store...

Thanks for the help everyone. I have a Pigtronix tremvelope that used the negative tip. I asked my music store of they had the right power supply. Well, when I get home I realize it is a positive tipped supply. So now I'm just looking for the cheapest way to make this MXR power supply to work. Or I could try and return the power supply and get one from pigtronix.
