Have Mesa 400+ & 6x10, need help w/practice rig!

I normally play a SansAmp RBI (preamp), into a Mesa 400+ thru a Mesa 6x10. However, I need something considerably smaller for practice sessions and smaller gigs. Can I just get a 2x10 for practice with some sort of load bank? Or do I need a completely different amp altogether? I'm trying to weigh my options.

Wise man once said. The first step in weighing your options is to weight your wallet.

Mesa PH 1x12 is an awesome speaker. Lightweight too. I use it for my non-metal practices with my 6550-loaded Bass 400 all the time.

Try your RBI blended in the FX loop of the 400+... that's my favorite tone. Best of both worlds.

Thanks for the input guys... The intent was to find something lighter and more compact, preferably a combo. I'd rather not haul a rack and a cab around. Not to mention, the 400+ doesn't get that quiet, nor does it have the same sound whilst turned way down.

PS. Yes I just posted a very similar post on accident. I didn't realize this one actually went up as a new thread. Sorry, I am new to this forum.
