Have you tried enrgyXT?

    Well...you should download and try it at xt-hq.com
    I just put 9 new tracks on my site that were done entirely in enrgyXT and done entirely with FREE VST I've downloaded. The first 8 are electronic music of and video-game adaptions of reggae dubs and the last one called "Direct Jam" was done with real instruments (except for the virtual drum machine) in just 4 tracks by going direct into the mixer and just hooking my mixer straight to the sound card and using free effect and amp-sim plugs. If anyone's interested, I can provide a full list off all the free VST that was used.
