having trouble fitting your pickguard?

I bought a pickguard for my highway 1 j-bass and noticed the pickguard wasnt settling like i thought it would. No problem all i had to do was unscrew the control plate and move it around a little to where the pickguard perfectly fits, this is no big thing, its very usual for j-basses to have this problem.

lull&smooth what finish do you have on your HW1? i was looking to change the white pickgaurd on my red finish but cant decide what colour to go for. was thinking either black or tort.
