Head for Ampeg 410 HLF

Thanks for all the responses! I would of course like to pay as little money as possible (dont we all) but for sure under a grand, which unfortunately seems to rule out the ampeg cl and mesa 600.
Back in my last band I was using the (spoiled rich) guitarists head, which was an Aguilar DB 750, and man that head just killed. However, I can't afford something like that. I guess what I'm trying to say is I do like the tube tone, but really dislike the incredible weight, bulk, and expense associated with it.
Im really attracted the price (and apparently performance based on so many recommendations) of Markbass. How does the Little Mark Tube compare to the Little Mark III? It looks to me like its the same thing but with a tube preamp...
I also really like the looks (and power) of the Carvin BX1500, anyone have experience with this head?
However, like I said, I could go up to around a grand, and if I can get a Much better head for a bit more dough, I'de be happy to spend it on a killer sound thats gonna last me..
I did see a used Ampeg CL at a local music shop thats been sitting there forever. I think it was around a grand, but I looked on the tag and it has like 3 markdowns on it! Do you think that the used all tube head would be a smart move, or that I would run into tube replacement issues and whatnot?

Don't be put off of getting a tube amp because of tube replacement costs etc. I'm firmly of the opinion that tube amps rule the galaxy and are worth the efforts (servicing/weight), they just require a little extra homework before purchasing. If you don't want to take the plunge with an all-tube beast yet then a Markbass LM II/III or tube is a good option as they can produce tones in the realm of tube heads and can get fairly loud and match well with your SVT410 HLF. The LM II/III and tube (500w version) all sound very similar, if not identical. The tube does add a little something to the LMT but its very discreet and is only realistically noticeable when playing solo.
From my experience - Markbass LM (II/III or tube) + SVT410HLF = happy times (add Sansamp BDDI to make into very happy times)

I originally had the 410 HLF with the 3pro. Then, I gassed and got a 4pro. THEN, I added a SVT115...and now...OMG. The 15 actually gives some great upper mid freqs, while the 410hlf handles the really low stuff. I love this setup..except for the whole weight/portability thing. I considered ditching it and going combo...but just coudn't! It sounded too good.

you should try out an SVT 7 pro. It behaves pretty tube like. Its now all tube SVT but i think it does a very nice job. Its what i run with my 410hlf. You shouldn't have a hard time finding one with a 410hlf at a guitar center to try out.

Speaking from experience, I am not to fond of the SVT-410HLF + LittleMark II. The power sure is there but the EQ does not work on the best frequencies for this cab, IMO. The "low mid" works a bit too deep and the "high mid" too high to add some mids to the scooped cabinet.
I also would have wished for the "high" frequency to be centered higher, at least when used with any cab with that crappy Fostex horn. I preferturning the Lpad down and add some extra sparkle at the very top on the amp instead. That way the harsh range 3-5kHz is suppressed and the stuff higher is boosted.

Please note, the EQ issues are not there when I use my other cabinets, which are much flatter than the Ampeg SVT-410HLF.
