Head Stock Strap Button

I have an old P bass with a strap button on the head stock. I like the look of it, so much so I added one to a recent parts bass I made. But I've never used it. Have you?

In my experience the main advantage of the Hootenanny button is that it pulls the bass back more into your torso, redistributing some of the weight from your strap shoulder. The big disadvantage is that you have to play with the bass in an almost horizontal position.

Never used it. However, like you, I have added a strap button to several "vintage" looking basses including my new Vintera II Road Worn 60s Precision, just for the look and vintage quality.

As I've never had one, do you use it with a standard bass strap or something else entirely?

My '69 Jazz had a strap button on the headstock but I never used it. I actually took it off years ago and store it in the case.

I have no idea idea, to be honest. I don't think my standard strap would be long enough.
