Hi, all.
I recently purchased a GK Legacy 500 head, and bought myself some new headphones for quiet practice.
I bought some Beyerdynamic DT990 headphones with an impedance of 250 ohms. I’m connecting them to the headphone output on the amp.
When I use these headphones, there is a prominent crackle with every note played. This is really annoying.
I’ve tried a second pair of these, and get the same crackling. I’ve also tried a pair of cheap iPhone headphones, and don’t seem to get any crackling.
Any ideas on why this might be? Are these amps designed for low-impedance headphones only?
Thanks
