Double Bass Headphones for practicing upright

I've been using my Apple Airpod Pro ear buds, in transparent mode - so the external mic is picking up the sound in the room and playing it along with the recording. It's really surprisingly good, and the lack of wires is nice. This is my go-to when the kids are watching television in one room and I just grab my bass and iPad and Airpods to practice in another room.

Otherwise, for traditional headphones with a cable, open backed rather than closed back are the way to go. I have some Sennheiser something-or-other (on holiday at the moment, can't check model number). The open back is quite transparent.

I was looking for headphones I could use for home studio use and that would okay nice with DB. I ended up with AKG k612 pro’s, because they had the flattest bass response for open backed headphones in that price range. (Around the €100 mark) All others I researched had a bump in the bass I did not like for DB. The caveat with this set is it’s high impedance. With some equipment they are not very loud. For practice on DB they are loud enough with my IPhone.

I really like the koss ksc75 headphones I got recently with an added headband. The koss portapros are similar.

They are incredibly light and don't muffle the outside world much. It feels like they disappeared after you put them on.

On top of that they have great bass response and cost ~$20
