Headphones to big amp for practice

Hey guys do any of you use a Shuttle 6.0 or a Mesa boogie scout with headphones and CD player for late night practice.

The Mesa tech I called told me it won`t work.
The Genz Benz tech said sure it will work.

I was thinking a small mixer into the imput of amp with Headphone and CD player in mixer would do it.

Any better suggestions.

If you're using a small mixer to get your bass into the amp, why are you bothering with the amp at all? Why don't you get a dedicated headphone amp for bass...

Cut the middle-man and just use an effects board like a GT-10B or GT-6B, Line 6 POD or any other you can think of. Most all of them have a headphone-out jack for silent practice.

Like noted above.. I'd streamline.

Mini RECORDING mixer will do everything you need.. you can buy them used for about $25 or so.

For practice it is nice to be able to blend levels etc.

I'd also not use an amp, I've already plugged my bass into my PC or mixer and practiced that way. There are a fair amount of cheap pedals out there that will do that same. Zoom makes some stuff that'd fit the bill for probably $60.

There's absolutely no problem using the Shuttle with headphones. That's exactly what the features are for.
