Headphones with built in amp?

Since I live in a dorm, and I'm a night-owl, half the time I'm jamming, I'm using my headphones through my marshal amp. I find it funny that I'm running through my amp to play through my head phones, so I'm wondering if they have rechargeable or disposable battery headphones that I can plug straight into my bass. Perhaps with the knobs on the earpieces or somewhere along the wire.

at Guitar Center last week.

It's a little amp that plugs right into your bass. It uses 9 volt battery. It has a tone control (called "Filter") and a switch for "big" or "lite" sound. It has a line in to listen to your iPod, CD player, etc. I like it quite a bit. Now I just need to figure out what big amp to buy.

There are also some "Rockman" type headphone amps out there. There is also a stethescope like device out there ( no batteries required).

The pocket rocket is your cheapest, simplest bet. The stethoscope thing works poorly IMO/IME because if anything (including your sleeve) rubs rubs it, you hear it. A great option is a Korg Bass Pandoro. Size of a deck of cards, has tuner, effects, drum beats, rudimentary looper all built in, but costs around 200.

Ahh sweet. Thanks guys. =) The idea of being able to play music through it aswell is appealing since I mostly solo and have the rhythm of a post-lobotomy beaver.
