Hey all. Hoping you all can answer some questions for me.

I’m looking at the Headrush Core, but for the life of me I cannot find a list of bass amps, cabs, bass effects, etc. What comes stock on this thing and are there any places to get more amps, etc?

Tons of guitar videos and love the vocal capabilities of the unit, just need some clarification on the bass stuff. Thanks!

Just got an MX5 in a trade for rehearsals and gigs. Love it. Created a simple rig with the Darkglass B7KU essentially acting as a clean DI, no cab. Sounds great through ears. SUPER IMPRESSED with the Drop Tune model. Tracks better IMO than the digitech drop. I was able to take my C# tuned bass down a half step to C to great results.

I want this unit for effects only (and maybe for some amp simulation in the future, who knows). I own a Darkglass Mictrotubes Infinity pedal, and I was planning to put this little bad boy in the loop of the MX5. Have you tried this with your B7KU? It does change the sound of the preamp of all is good with it? I would like to be able to have a chorus in front of the Mitrotubes and maybe add a compressor at the end, like just simply having the Darkglass in the loop on the headrush and place it wherever I want without sacrificing the tone of it.

I just bought a used Headrush Gigboard - I wanted to try something new and reduce the pedals on my board while, simultaneously, increase my options. I did some research about the Line6, Fractal, Boss and Headrush stuff and figured that almost everything is targeted at guitarists, so regardless the unit I'd ignore probably 80% of the stuff in there. The Headrush eventually caught my eye because it is affordable and seems simple.
Initially I use it to replace a Joyo Ultimate Dive, a Laney 85 octaver, a cheap-ass flanger and, of course, a tuner.
First rehearsal Tuesday night. The board is absolutely easy to use. But: I have major problems with the gain structure. To be fair, I haven't really looked into it, I just put the B7K and a Flanger in there, but my sound is missing serious OOMPH (board is set to LINE). I figured I have to dive into this way more.

It was my ultimate plan to figure out whether the Headrush-thing is my cup of tea, after which I'd buy a Headrush Core for band-use and keep the Gigboard for home, for practicing and recording. As far as I understood the newer Headrush Core can profile my amp setup, which I then can export/use on my gigboard at home. Is that true?

In any case - a fascinating device. As an embedded Software Engineer, this thing makes my heart jump

No, the profiles you make on the newer models are not reverse compatible with the now “legacy” models.

Make sure you’re using a quality IR, and don’t be afraid to crank up the volumes on the Ampeg or whatever amp model you’re using to get the tone cooking.

I have gigged the mx5 for a little more than 3 years… it’s great but it will be my last Headrush, for sure. Capable unit, but after seeing how the sausage was made over on the beta tester forum… I’ll be moving to something with more commitment to the users, a la Line6.

It’s a great time to be a player - all these toys are really awesome compared to what we had access to 30 years ago.

Ah, that's a bummer. I hoped that I could load my own profiles into the legacy unit.

I don't use amp or cabinet simulation, only effects. I tried a factory rig with Ampeg amp and cab and yes, there's loads of OOMPH in there, but I don't want amp simulation, just the effects

Hypothetically speaking, if one happened to play a gig where bringing own Ampeg fridge was a little less than reasonable, the lil' box would allow one to send a Cab signal to FOH and an unemulated signal to a whichever bass amp the local venue provides.

The benefit being that the audience, audio engineer, bandmates and, optionally, one's IEM would receive the same consistent tone one had for the last 42 rehearsals, including all dem FX.

Yes, you can put any pedal in the FX loop of the MX5
Yes, you can design scenes which switches/changes multiple pedals simultaneously
Yes, signal splitting can be done as you described (for as far as I know)

Anyone using the prime?
I am primarily vocals but started on bass and still play some bass. My current board was designed for bass with my main pedals being the micro tubes infinity, grizzly bass, JC wah, and an H90.

I’ve been using the h90 as my vocal fx unit at this point but it gives me at most two effects and is very complicated to use.

I saw the prime and wondered if this might be a more user friendly option. Anyone been using it for vocals?

In Headrush signal path, put FX Loop block before IR Cab block. Adjust FX Loop block volume levels.

L/R Output goes to FOH (XLR out for Pedalboard, DI box for Gigboard and MX5) and to IEM/Monitors from there

FX Loop Send goes to Amp - FX Rtn is ideal.

Note, that this way unit's FX loop is used solely for onstage amp

Yes, just place FX Loop block in between other FX blocks.

Yes, refer to Scenes. Since MX5 only has 3 switches, it is possible to assign 2 scenes per switch, for a total of 6.

Yes. When using split-path option, adjust the hard pan of each path. Width can be set in the Output block. Width can also be set per Rig.

Hate: I cannot make any of the fuzz or distortion pedals would like a grow, actually they count alter the sound much at all to the point that I think the damn this is broken.

Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

You're doing it right, I'm afraid. The dirt pedals in there are not the greatest choice for bass.
My personal favorite dirt sound was overdriving one of the SVT models.
Just save two presets - one with the clean settings and one with the gain cranked and then map the preset change to the footswitch.

Another option is, of course, to split the signal.
Pack compression and low pass filtering on one leg and high pass and distortion on the other leg, then blend it together again.
