Okay so maybe this is a really stupid question, but you know those videos where you have a camera clipped to the bass headstock to show a view of the fretboard? If you have a headless bass or guitar, how would you do a similar video?

Use the clamp as a capo for the first fret? Lol
I'd just see how well you could clamp to the neck on the sides. Would be tough though

I'd worry about knocking it off by accident. The capo idea is interesting though... so maybe downtune it, then clamp the first fret so it's back to standard tuning?
Depends how big your clamp is. What are you using? I have a GoPro and the clamp accessory and that thing bites down with some monster force. If I stayed still for the most part I'd think it would be ok, but give it enough shakes and it might not work too well.
How does your headstock look? Does it have at least a little space on it past the zero fret or does it drop off right where the fret ends?
