With the proper visual elements and resolution, you could possibly include the logo and everything. And, if I'm reading the page correctly, it should cost well less than $100 and require some DIY elbow grease.

Find a good auto body shop in your area and ask them if they would be interested in doing it, they will be able to match the color for you, and If you want the logo back on it, there are plenty of places online that can make waterslide decals to match whatever logo you want, and can even make custom logos if you wanted something unique. The shop will spray the color (basecoat), then put the waterslide decal on which are super thin, and when they spray the clearcoat, the decal will be under it and will look factory.

Ive been in the auto body field for years and have painted quite a few guitar and basses. The results will look flawless if done right.

This would have been my suggestion too. But around here (central WI) it's hard to find one that will do guitars/basses. I just had a body painted for a project at a shop but had to travel an hour to another town to find someone who would do it. Local guys said no.

@Bushhog, I've done all 4 of my headstocks myself and I am light years from being an expert. It's a reasonably small area and as long as you can get it to lay flat while you're spraying it's easy to spray without drips. That being said I only painted the front of mine, if you want to do the sides that would mean more coats more lightly applied. If you have access to work outside take a piece of scrap, sand it smooth and practice. It'll come to you.

I have had good luck with Rustoleum products, and good tape. Frog tape/green is much better than blue painters tape. And auto supply stores have even better stuff if you want to pay for it.

Just some thoughts, I understand your desire for matching headstock, it's a very finished look in my opinon.

I got one quote for $125. To me, that's not too expensive but others might find that it is. I'd have to send the entire bass which is understandable so that the finish can be matched as close as possible. I've already started replacing the waterslide decals so getting the headstock refinished is going to be put on hold for a while. Some people don't like the looks of a matching headstock but I do. It's something different and something that none of my other basses or guitars have.

I don't think it is either. I'll probably end up getting it refinished later this year. I had to get something done with the headstock asap. The fact that there was nothing on the headstock was driving me crazy. I could've just put a sticker on there until I got it refinished. Such a small detail but it was bugging me.

That's not the worst price. Colors, aesthetics, and matching headstocks are polarizing around TB. But it's important to me too, just gives the bass a "finished" look. I did all of these myself except the black one. I used a cricut to make the logo stickers. It's a process though.

If they are indeed shipping it. OP didn't say. I'm assuming it would be done locally.

For me, shipping would drive up the cost to the point where it wasn't worth it. Then again, I've put $300 worth of pickups into a $150 bass, so what do I know?
