Double Bass Headway EDB-1 Preamp w/ Electric?

Late reply, I realize.
I've never tried mine with electric, but I've assumed it would work fine. The input impedance switch, and the low cut filters will help you tailor it.

Re. the notch: I wish the notch band was narrower. I find it cuts too wide a swath for true single or adjacent note resonances. And I find the overall EQ just sounds different as soon as you switch it in -- no matter what freq. it's tuned to.

I have one or two other things I'd change about the design. But overall it's a nice, solid piece of hardware, and really handy to have around.

It's just OK with electric but it takes some knob twisting to make it work. The preamp has a nice pillowy roundness that sounds right with DB which isn't really what I want when playing electric, somewhat like Acoustic Image. It works in a pinch but I don't find it to be aggressive enough.

Yeah, I agree the notch filter could be narrower. But I feel like notch filters in general, regardless of bandwidth, tend to have a 'coloration' effect. Not sure why that is, but I suspect it might be the nature of the beast.

I've actually only used it in a recording/practicing capacity with my audio interface. Never used it live on electric. I think the roundness that you described might actually be what I liked about it.
