Heartburn

Tum, tum tum tum, tummmmmss!

That usually works, but heartburn is being taken much more seriously nowadays. Recurrent heartburn has been linked to increased rates of Esophageal cancer, so more aggressive treatment (something beyond Tums) may be warranted. I don't know if I buy into all of the 'this and that cause cancer' theories, but this one kinda makes sense. Presence of acid in the esophagus would cause cells to be destroyed, and therefore cause more cells to replicate... therefore increasing the risk of cancer.

The best over the counter stuff by far is Prilosec OTC...that is, unless you're in the middle of experiencing it, in which case mylanta imo works best.

For a while my doctor had me on Nexium (aka the purple pill) but that stuff will give you diahrrea in the worst way.
