Heavy Hi Beams va Regular Standard Strings

I love the sound of Hi-Beams but hate loose strings, and I've heard those are pretty loose. D'Addario Nickels 45-105 are what I have on my bass (because they were cheap), would a set of, like, 50-110 DR's have the same or higher tension?

I once tried the Sunbeams (round core, 45-65-85-105) and the Nickel Lo-Riders (hex core, 40-60-80-100) back to back.
The SBs did have higher tension (as in pulling weight on the neck) due to larger gauges but still felt looser (as in stiffness/flexibility) than the LRs due to the round core.

The HBs 50-110 will have higher tension (pulling weight) but no guarantee they will have the same stiffness as the D'A Nickels 45-105 (hex core).
