Helix LT - Power amp-Cab

I'm thinking of getting the Line6 Helix LT.
Anyone using a helix LT into a power amp into a cab ?
I'm also considering running the helix straight into the PA. without the amp and cab.
Anyone doing this? and what are your results if you are.

I had a Stomp and traded up to the LT. I only played one show with the LT so far. We just ran straight to the PA, but also use in ear monitors. In the past, we've just run to cabs with power amps, typically via the effects send block before the cab sim.

I run a Helix LT direct into the PA. I have run into amps/cabs mainly for testing and setting up the sound profiles. But for live playing, it's a straight XLR into the board. The amount of sims, effects, etc you can run off one simple pedal board is just great, and showing up at any gig with a loaded helix backpack and bass makes setup and teardown quick and easy. Not to mention loading/unloading the car...:). I've been doing this setup now for about 7 years without any issues, probably over 500 gigs

I've been doing all possible combination with the HX Stomp, depending on the location.
  • If it's a venue I'm familar with, I go straight to the PA, hearing myself only through the stage wedges.
  • Other times I'm bringing an SWR Workingman's 12 combo as my stage monitor, going Main Out to PA and splitting the path before the cab block to the Stomp's FX Send output jack which then goes into the Power Amp In (FX Return) of the combo.
  • In small venues without the need for a PA I go directly into Power Amp In of the SWR. (Sometimes the SWR acts as our sole "PA", in fact… :))
Usually I have a parametric EQ block at the end of the B-path so that I can fine-tune the combo sound if necessary, because the Global EQ on the Stomp affects only Main Out.
