hello all, old newbie here

Hi all. This is Mostro.
I am 24 and just decided to pick up bass guitar.
I have always liked the instrument and I am glad I finally have the guts and time to get into it.

I have a background on saxophone, flute, piano, and some drums, but I don't read music (I used to when I was learning piano and flute).

I have never tried a string instrument (I say piano is percussion but whatever) and feel about nervous because my left hand fingers feel sort of stiff or something. I guess it all comes with practice and consistency. I am old (24) so I hope I can pick up some skill in a relatively short time.

Thanks to all and please suggest me any websites that sell videos or books on learning to play bass.

Hi Mostro
It's probably not too late to learn to play the bass. I was about your age when I picked it up. That was in the mid 60's.
I'm still playing in bars, and some other guys my age are too!
As to learning try www.learntoplaymusic.com. Learning from other musicians is my favorite way.
