Hello all!

Hello, my name is Adam. I recently just joined these forums and they are great. A little about myself...

I'm 27 years old and live just west of Cleveland, Ohio. I have been playing bass for like 13 years off and on, mainly as a hobby but recently I decided I wanted to dive deeper into it. I am no where near the skill level I want to be but that will change. I've played in original bands, mainly punk and pop punk. I've recorded, played shows, did small tours, pretty much what everyone does who plays music for a while.

About 2 years ago I quit playing and sold ALL of my gear. I thought I was done with music and wanted to move on. I got married and bought a house. Then I realized how much I missed playing and playing out. So I talked to the wife and she gave me the green light to purchase all my gear back. I found TalkBass by accident, I have been reading reviews of gear on here for years but never joined.

Now, I'm on a mission to get all new gear, well new to me lol.

I used to own:

2 Fender MIM basses, set up professionally of course. With quarter pounder pick ups.

Ampeg SVT4 Pro, racked with a bunch of other crap that I probably didn't need lol. Pumped through a ampeg 410 and 115. For smaller shows I used my Ampeg b2re with a single Ampeg 115. I was pretty much an Ampeg whore back then. Loved the tone. Still do but I'm more open now... For practices and throw together stuff I used an Acoustic B200H with the matching 410. I don't want all of this back, but some would be nice if I can get some good deals.

I do want to get back to performing in both a original band with locals and a 70's-00's cover band with my uncle.

I am hoping to learn a lot from these forums, I definitely want to contribute as well. Any questions, just ask. Thanks!!!

Welcome! Lots to take in here. I look forward to your input too.

You described what you used to own. So, you are just now shopping for gear again? Best of luck with that. The hunt for "your sound" is fun as long as you don't get "married" to any ideas. Stay open-minded. You may be surprised at what you will like if you just let yourself like it and quit worrying about what someone else might think of your gear.

Thanks everyone, yeah I'm not committed to any sound or gear at the moment. I want to go and just play a bunch of amp/speakers to see what I enjoy.
