Hello everyone!

Hello from Vermont, USA. I'm a completely new player: less than a week with my new-to-me blue Yamaha TRBX304 and I love it already.

I don't really have big goals as a player. My almost-12yo has been learning drums for a few months and got her own kit about a month ago. I hope to learn alongside her, giving each other some motivation and a common interest as she goes into her teen years. Dream scenario is that we do this for a few years and then she ditches me when she starts a band with younger, cooler people.

I'm aiming to practise about 30mins a day, giving roughly equal time to carefully working through Ed Friedland's "Hal Leonard Bass Method" and following youtube instructional videos for songs or just stuff that seems interesting or fun.

I'm already learning from a little while poking around here, but if anyone has some direct advice (or questions) for my situation, I'd love to hear it.
