I wish to introduce myself to the group. My name is Sandra Starling and I am the bass player for Tucson's Too Much Information (TMI). You can check us out at Link Removed. I am a second year bassist that has switched over from playing six string electric lead which I played for around 20 years.
The transition to bass was pretty easy and now in my second year I will never look back. I keep learning new things all the time and when I can I go out to see other live bands playing and get some free bass 101 (Or pick up their bad habits)
I am currently in a band in Tucson. The trip is about 160 miles round trip every tuesday for practice + gigs. Even though I'm pretty much broke most of the time I wouldn't give up my tuesday band nights for anything.
I own a Gretsch Electromatic short scale and a new Peavey Millennium BXP. I just love the BXP and the extended scale makes for some nice sounds. I have not been able to put it down since I got it. Did I mention I just love the BXP?
Anywho please feel free to drop me a line if you have any other questions. I hope that I can learn and share info with all of you sharp bassists out there.
Warm wishes,
Sandra
