Hello from Bordeaux, France

Hi.
I have been reading this forum more or less in depth for ages...
Being 42y old, I have also been playing bass since highschool, with long interruptions.
I come back to it strongly these last monthes, alone so far but I plan to find a band in the coming year.
My favorite bassists in various genres could fill a big room. Just naming a few : Herbie Flowers, James Jamerson, Juan Nelson, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Carol Kaye...

I had only one bass, my cherished 97 MiM Jazz Bass, and bought an Ampeg RB115 recently.
I love the amp, thanks TalkBass for the great reading. These last years I realized that I was more and more looking for a deep round vintage tone, with less medium and trebbles.
I have tried tapewound, flats, foam, EQ... Every playing (short, too many kids) session was actually dedicated to try to get the right sound.

Finally I understood that I needed a PB..... All these years.

Thanks to TB I just purchased a cheap used Vintage Reissued V4 which I LOVE.

I will add pictures soon but I am amazed by how it changes my playing to finally have immediately the sound I was looking for for 25 years...
Thanks and see you soon.
À bientôt !

Here are the photos.
I still love my Jazz you know, I am just amazed by the sound and feeling of this 200€ Precision
I have put back (old) round on the Jazz to enhance the differences between both. And the Vintage V4 is having a nice service to be perfectly setup.
