Hello, my name is Paul and I am a 40 something bass player from England. Some of you older players might remember me some years back from the old Harmony Central bass forum.
I started playing bass over 30 years ago and have played in a variety of bands from rock to punk to jazz and funk ever since up until around 8 years ago when I packed up and sold most of my gear.
I have spent the past few years writing electronic music using Ableton and Protools but recently I have started realising how much I miss my first love. Then a few weeks ago I spotted a 2011 natural finish American deluxe jazz bass sitting in the local music store. I spent an hour playing it and it just fitted perfectly. After spending two weeks walking past the store, talking myself out of buying it I realised it was meant to be and 30 minutes later I left the store as a bass player again.
I couldn't be happier, the jazz has hardly left my side since I collected it. Maybe at some point I may join a band again but for now I am happy brushing up on playing again after so long away and I am looking forward to meeting fellow players here.
