Hey everyone im happy to have finally come aboard
Im amongst the "guitarist picking up their first bass" crowd.
Recently decided to build my own bass as a launchpad to learn properly the ins and outs of bass playing. Most of the questions i had about pickups, strings, speakers, etc ended up taking me here.
Heres the bass i just built! Inspired by JPJ's P Bass, its got the Duncan scpb-1 (which im really digging).
I also build my own amps at home and do a convincing Jimmy Page spec Superbass, and own a 50w Hi-Tone (Hiwatt clone) so im mostly chasing the vibes and sounds of the 60s when guys would go straight into a Marshall, Ampeg or Hiwatt for their bass tones.
Anyways im really looking forward to meetint everyone ane learning more and hopefully becoming a passable bassist on top of all my years as a guitarist.!
