Hey! 28y old swede here. Been playing different instruments during my life with long breaks between and often come back to the bass. Now that im old enough to afford my dream instruments im more motivated then ever to learn the instruments fundamentals aswell as more theory.. instead of just trial and error jamming in a band.

Yes a lot of it comes in bits and pieces of the real story. You end up using a bit of this and then a little of that and in the process get confused, because you have not built the foundation that is needed....

Time spent with an instructor helps and I enjoy a good instruction book. Ed Friedland writes good stuff. Ed has a way of putting words together so we understand what he is teaching. Amazon will have all his books. I shy away from the Kindle versions as I like to have paper on my music stand. In fact have taken a lot of my books to the print shop and had plastic comb backing put on them so they would lay flat on the music stand.

Hope it's not a problem getting Amazon books in Sweden. Way back in the day I always had a problem getting my instruction material into Canada. Had to go through a custom agent and even then it was hit or miss if it would be there in time for the session.

It is so nice to be retired and not have to worry about things like that any longer.
