Hi, I'm John. I'm from Massachusetts and I've been playing bass, with widely varying degrees of frequency and dedication, for about 28 years.
My current main bass is a '79 Precision, US, natural finish, maple board, red shell pickguard. Heavily modified by the previous owner(s) so I have no idea what's original and what's not; the bridge is definitely after market, and the finish was sanded off the back of the neck. I recently replaced the EMG pickup it had when I bought it with a DiMarzio Model P that used to be in my beginner bass forever.
My back up is a '94 Fender Precision '51 reissue, MIJ, butterscotch blonde, black pickguard. This was my first and only brand new bass. Completely stock, except for a recently upgraded Switchcraft jack.
My rig is a '70s(?) Sunn Coliseum Bass head with matching 1×18 cabinet. I'm planning to add a second cab soon, probably a 2×10.
Can anyone help me figure out the best way to pay pics here? It's been a while since I used a message board. Thanks.
